Moving to Idaho Falls
For those looking for a quiet, small-town life with all of the conveniences and entertainment of big-city life, Idaho Falls is a wonderful place to call home. There is never a shortage of wholesome family fun, and a beautiful community serves as a backdrop to it all.
Academics
Idaho Falls is home to two different school districts, District 91 and District 93. Within these school districts are four high schools: Idaho Falls High School, Skyline High School, Hillcrest High School and Bonneville High School. Idaho Falls also offers extensive options for those looking to continue their educational careers. The College of Eastern Idaho (CEI) is a community college located right within the city and students can access both undergraduate and graduate degree programs at University Place, a higher education partnership between the University of Idaho and Idaho State University.
Amenities
Convenient living is a way of life in Idaho Falls with plentiful options for recreation, shopping and services like financial institutions and medical providers. The local parks and recreation district goes to great lengths to enhance the community, offering a year-round calendar of family-friendly events, performances and sports. Plus, the city features many pristine parks, three championship golf courses, a zoo and an ice arena. Great times are never far away.
Entertainment
Having fun in Idaho Falls is easy, but narrowing down the options can get a little tricky. In addition to attractions like Melaleuca Field, home to the Idaho Falls Chukars baseball team, the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho and the Japanese Pavilion are local favorites. Plus, seasonal outdoor events like the annual Harvest Fest and the Bank of Idaho River Concert Series are always a hit. For those looking for a little more adventure and scenery, parts of Yellowstone National Park can be accessed from the city.
Dining
Local diners know their way around a menu. It’s no surprise local eateries have a little something for everyone and every occasion, including casual grills, tapas, bakeries, pizzerias and bistros. If something a little more formal is on the agenda, high-end American cuisine at the local favorite SnakeBite Restaurant is sure to deliver. If you crave it, you’re likely to find it just a short drive away.
Transportation
Coming soon to Idaho Falls is a “micro-transit” system that aims to make the city even more accessible and affordable to travel throughout it. Greater Idaho Falls Transit (GIFT) is planned to launch in 2022 and will be a rideshare service that combines the comfort of services like Uber and Lyft with the accessibility, flexibility and affordability of mass transit systems.
Health Care
When emergencies happen, Idaho Falls residents never have to travel far for quality and trusted care. The area’s two hospitals, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and Mountain View Hospital, are top-rated providers. This is in addition to specialized nearby providers who offer crucial services such as pulmonary care, gynecological medicine, cancer treatment and kidney care.
Demographics
Idaho is one of the most affordable states to live in, and Idaho Falls is no exception. According to AreaVibes.com, it is 14% more affordable to live in the region overall when compared to other cities of the same size and taking into account things like groceries, utilities and transportation.
