Idaho Falls has a lot of housing developed between 1970 and 1999, therefore some areas of town may have the “Brady Bunch” style of homes popular in the 1970s and early 1980s, however some of these houses were built up to the early 1990s as well. Idaho Falls also has a lot of houses built between 1940 and 1969. A smaller percentage of the housing stock was built between 2000 and after. There is also some housing in Idaho Falls that was constructed before 1939.

Living in Idaho Falls

The town itself is average and offers little entertainment, but the location is beautiful and the summer climate is agreeable. Most residential neighborhoods are quiet and focused to the south and east, and there is a tiny historic district with various artistic venues along a lovely Snake River shoreline. The educational level is pretty good and the expense of living is reasonable. The area appeals to outdoor enthusiasts and is gaining popularity among retirees, particularly in Rexburg and the districts northeast of Yellowstone National Park.
