Planning a Family Ski Trip to Idaho

When planning a ski trip there are plenty of states to consider, but Idaho is the top choice for family ski trips. They have plenty of ski resorts to visit that have someone for everyone, between snowboarding, skiing, and all other winter activies you’’ll be sure to find the ski resort perfect for you and your family.

Bogus Basin is a mountain recreation area is a great place for you and your family to go for a ski trip. Located in Boise County, approximately 16 miles north by northeast of the city of Boise, Bogus Basin is one of the "hottest" places to visit during the winter. They have alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, a thrilling mountain roller coaster, to have some excitement when you’re too tired to ski another hill, winter tubing and snowboarding. One of the best parts of Bogus Basin is located on private and leased land in the Boise National forest, and it’s operated by a non-profit company and the money that goes into it goes back out to the community. Making it the perfect place to go to for ski trips for families, friends, and groups of all sizes during the winter.

Silver Mountain Resort is another amazing place to go for a family ski trip. Located in the Silver Valley region of Northern Idaho, in Shoshone county, this resort is two mountains. Wardner Peak has a summit of 6,205 feet and the tallest, Kellogg Peak, has a summit of 6,297 feet. They have a lot of fun activities such as racing for kids from age four to age seventeen. The instructors can guide even the youngest kids into learning all the skills needed to excel at competitive skiing. They have a terrain park for skiers and snowboarders to try tricks and flips on. they also have tubing, sport school and lifts overlooking the resort. There is even shopping, food, spa, and a marketplace for you and your family to enjoy shopping. Definitely be sure to check out the newly expanded Gondola Village for all of your entertainment needs.

Another option you can go with is Tamarack Resort. This place is located about 90 miles north of Boise. They are a great place to visit for family ski trips. They just recently opened and have some beautiful lodging areas to choose from and they even have many different activities and many things to do there. Such as skiing, snowboarding, snowshoe, and snowmobiles. They also have a daycare program for the children, as well as a spa with many different options and a gym. Making it a great location with many different options for your whole family to enjoy.

Little Ski Hill is another great place for your family ski trip. They have many options there as well. From there amazing skiing to their events happening every couple of days from the snowball to taco Tuesday and back again. They even have lessons for those who do not yet know how in group settings or just one on one.

Lookout Pass Ski & Recreation Area is a great place for you and your family to check out for your ski trip. It has two amazing parks, and they even have a third one that is for beginners, or people who have not skied in a while, to use to feel more comfortable before moving onto a bigger one, as well as many kid friendly options. They also have options for people who may have a disability including, mono-skis, bi-skis, outriggers, sit-skis and ski-bikes. They also welcome service dogs. You can also find great food court, pub, as well as a retail and gift shop at their location.
